Rare pair of twice-flown postal covers. The first is a 1933/34 rocket-flown cover with hand stamp celebrating mail "Transported with the 1st steerable flying rocket "Herta" ("System Zucker") The second cover has a hand stamp indicating that the cover was carried by rocket on a "night flight" and it additionally bears a 3 RM "rocket stamp" tied to the cover with an Apr. 4, 1933 Hasselfelde cancel. Both covers bear additional cancels reading in German: "...on occasion of the Jubilee flight 1960, flown for the second time by rocket...". Both have also been signed by the inventor, Gerhard Zucker (1908–1985) who sponsored the flight and used revenues from the sale of the covers to fund more advanced rocketry. Very good. Listed in Ellington Zwisler catalog as 22C1 and 22C1a respectively.
