MALCOLM JOHN REBENNACK, JR. (1941–2019) "Dr. John" American singer and songwriter. His music combined blues, pop, jazz, boogie-woogie and rock and roll. Active as a session musician from the late 1950s until his death, he gained a following in the late 1960s after the release of his album Gris-Gris and his appearance at the Bath Festival of Blues and Progressive Music. In 1973 he achieved a top-10 hit single with "Right Place, Wrong Time". Partly-printed D.S. "Mac Rebennack", 4pp. 4to., June 26, 1972, a contract for his appearance as "Dr. John - The Night Tripper" at the Kane County Fair Grounds, St. Charles, Il., for a 45-60 min. show for a $2,500 fee. Boldly signed at bottom. A rider attached is secretarially-signed. Fine. Spirit and Quicksilver appeared in the same show.
