Very early and scarce partly-printed D.S. in Dutch, 1p., 4to. (sight), Antwerp, Aug. 13, 1723, a stock certificate for the "Keyserlyche Indische Compagnie" ("Imperial India Company"), a competitor of the famous Dutch East India Company. The document, issued by the directors of the company, directs a Hungarian cashier to receive 250 guilders from a citizen of Ghent, in payment for the first portion of his share of one thousand guilders in the company. Four company officials sign at the conclusion, with this payment and three subsequent payments recorded and signed off on below. Shows folds, matted in cream and mounted in a black and gilt wood frame along with a typed translation, 25" x 21 1/2" overall. Very good.
