ERWIN ROMMEL (1891 - 1944) German field marshall whose Afrika Corps threw back repeated British and American assaults in North Africa, later he defended Normandy and ultimately was forced to commit suicide due to his implication in the Hitler bomb plot. Fine content war-date D.S. "Rommel" as general of panzer troops, signed in dark pencil as was his custom, 2pp. 4to., [North Africa], Feb. 5, 1942, an extensive compilation of lists of various awards given to various named regiments under his command, including both classes of the Iron Cross, and spanges issued for those types of medals as well. Signed by a second, unidentified officer as well. File holes, else fine.
