(1738-1820) King of England during the American Revolution, it was his policies of taxation and repression that led to the uprisings in the Colonies. Partly-printed D.S. as King, 1p. sm. folio, London, Oct. 23, 1793, the appointment of Capt. George Frederick Koehler to the rank of major in the Royal Regiment of Artillery. Signed at upper-left. Co-signed by HENRY DUNDAS (1742–1811), the first Secretary of State for War and in 1806, the last person to be impeached in the United Kingdom, for misappropriation of public money. Folds, some edge wear and soiling, still good to very good.
