Fine content and association war-date T.L.S. as commander of the Third Army, 1p. 4to., [n.p.], Jan. 20, 1945 to CLARENCE R. HUEBNER (1888-1972), American major general who commanded the 1st Infantry Division in its assault on Omaha Beach, in the drive across France, at the Hurtgen Forest and in the battle of Aachen. In part: “…Please let me not waste another minute to congratulate you and the Army on your new job as Corps Commander. I have been waiting for this happy day for a long time, and I am certainly delighted that you have the Corps. With all good wishes for continued success and happiness…” Fine.
