JOHNNY WINTER (1944–2014) American musician, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. Best known for his high-energy blues-rock albums and live performances in the late 1960s and 1970s, Winter also produced three Grammy Award-winning albums for blues singer and guitarist Muddy Waters. In 1988, he was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame. Award presentation, a 16" x 20" poster with brass plaque reading: "JOHNNY WINTER Best Electric Blues Guitarist Guitar Player Magazine 1977 Readers Poll". The poster shows images of 14 prominent guitarist with Winter shown at top, including Roy Clark, Leo Kottke, Neil Young, Al DiMeola, Stanley Clarke, Jose Feliciana, and others. The print, no. 7/50, is signed by artist PAM ELLIS, matted in black fabric and set into a brass frame. From the sale of Winter's estate, with a tag from the sale attached on verso. Fine condition.
