Pair of plates commemorating the 1927 solo trans-Atlantic flight by Charles Lindbergh. The first plate is French-made porcelain, 8 1/2" dia. with a portrait of Lindbergh, marked "Sarreguemines, also marked "Phot. Manuel. Fr." with an "S" and an "X", ca. late 1920s. The second plate measures 8 ½” across and 9 ½” diagonally, with gold trim and decorated with a smiling portrait of a young Col. Lindbergh and reads: "First to navigate the air in continuous flight from New York to Paris – 1927". Produced by the Limoges China Co., Sebring Ohio. Some crazing, else fine. Two pieces.
