(1915-2008) American bomber pilot of the Enola Gay, which dropped the first atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Printed D.S., 1p. 4to., [n.p., n.d.], bearing a quote from Tibbets regarding the attack, in full: "...the morality of dropping that bomb was not my business. I was instructed to perform a military mission... and that was the thing I was going to do to the best of my ability." He signs at the conclusion in blue ink over his printed name and rank. In fine condition.
