Presentation watercolor portrait of "Ferdi", an otherwise unidentified man, likely Jewish, given to him apparently upon his transfer to another camp or a displaced persons camp. The "birthday" card measures 17" x 14" when opened. The front cover reads, in German: "Ferdi for your birthday! [from] your comrades in Block 50" When the card is opened, there appears within a well-executed full-length portrait of the recipient wearing ballet slippers and in a "split" ballet pose. His legs and feet span the distance between two camps, one seemingly more fortified than the other, and four rabbits run along his legs from one camp to the other. Also included are two professionally sketched pencil portraits of the same man, very detailed, each 8 1/2" x 11. Overall very good.
