Good group of documents related to the career of Edwin Pfutzner, a Third Reich-era public prosecutor in Erfurt. Includes: Partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., Berlin, Sep. 10, 1935 a civic promotion certificate elevating Pfutzner from “Staatsanwaltschaftsrat” (“Public Prosecutor’s Council”) to “Oberstaatsanwalt” (“Chief Prosecutor”). The certificate is signed at the conclusion in black ink by German Minister of Justice FRANZ GURTNER (1881-1941), countersigning against the printed signature of Adolf Hitler. The original transmittal letter and envelope for this signature are also present. Very good. WITH: Partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., Berlin, May 14, 1938, a certificate granting Pfutzner the Civil Service Faithful Service Medal in Silver (not present), in honor of his 25 years in the judiciary. The certificate bears the printed signature of Otto Meissner, head of the Office of the President of Germany during the Weimar Era and the first years of the Third Reich. Shows a paper clip mark to the edge, else very good to fine. Also present is the August 12, 1938 issue of the journal "Deutsche Justiz Rechtspflege und Rechtspolitik" ("German Justice Administration and Legal Policy"), in very good condition.
