These certificates were provided by a local "voenkomat" ("military commissariat") to veterans who had lost their original awards. Each document lists the recipient's name and the inventory number of the award, and is signed at the conclusion by a military official. The certificates presented here represent every campaign medal issued by the Red Army for battles in World War II, but for the Defense of Sevastopol and the Defense of Odessa medals, which are offered separately elsewhere in this sale.
