Good lot of three items signed by notable aviators of World War II, includes: First-day cover, 6 1/4" x 4 1/4", honoring the 25th anniversary of the Berlin airlift, bearing the signatures of Knight's Cross recipients DIETRICH PELTZ (1914-2001) and ROBERT KOWALEWSKI (1914-1996), American ace ROBERT M. YORK, and three R.A.F. officers: Air Vice Marshal RANALD M. REID (1893-1991) and Wing Commanders J.D. KIRWAN and T.S. JONES. Shows pencil identifying inscriptions, else very good. WITH: First-day cover, 6 1/2" x 4 1/4", honoring the 25th Anniversary of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, bearing the signature of American ace URBAN DREW (1924-2013), British ace JAMES H. LACEY (1917-1989) and Luftwaffe ace GEORG-PETER EDER (1921-1986), as well as two further R.A.F. officers: Squadron Leader DAVID J. CUTTING and Flight Lieutenant ROBERT J. HAMILTON. Very good. WITH: LUIGI GORRINI (1917-2014), the highest-scoring Italian fighter ace to survive World War II. S.P., 4" x 5 3/4" b/w, a view of Gorrinin standing before a Macchi C. 205 fighter. He signs in black ink at top left, adding the date "22 Luglio [July] 2004". Very good to fine. Three pieces.
