(1902 - 1989) Wehrmacht general and adjutant to Adolf Hitler. Hitler much liked and trusted Bormann, although he and his brother Martin disliked each other intensely. Scarce war-date T.L.S. as NSKK-Gruppenfuhrer, 1p. oblong 8vo., Berlin, July 26, 1943, sending thanks to "Adalbert Stifter-Gesellschaft" that: "...the Fuhrer has instructed me to thank you for your letter of May 17...[with which you sent] the Adalbert Stifter commemorative coin..." Paper trimmed all about with no loss of text, some foxing esp. along one fold, else very good. Stifter (1805–1868) was an Austrian writer, poet, and painter.
