Fegelein married Eva Braun's sister and served as liaison between Hitler and Himmler, but in the closing days of the war he was caught attempting to flee and was summarily executed. Good content partly-printed D.S., 2pp. large 4to., Landshut, June 24, 1936. An unidentified SS-Haupsturmfuhrer writes: "...I am asking for the promotion of SS-Obersharfuhrer Anton Ameiser...in the SS-Cavalry 1/R 15 Munich...to SS-Untersturmfuhrer...and to make him leader of SS-Cavalry 1/R 15 Munich...His ancestry documentation was submitted..." On the verso, Fegelein signs confirming that the request for promotion had been forwarded to SS headquarters. The V SS-Cavalry, which was commanded by Fegelein and incorporated the 15th and 17th SS-Cavalries, was tasked with guarding concentration camps and were three years later turned into the SS-Reiterstandarde Totenkopf. Brittle with some marginal toning and a few chips, good to very good overall.
