(1906 – 1984) SS commander and an aide of Reinhard Heydrich first in the SD, later in the Reich Security Main Office. Rauff is thought to have been responsible for nearly 100,000 deaths during World War II. He was instrumental in the implementation of the mobile gas chamber, and his victims included Communists, Jews, Roma and people with disabilities. He was arrested in 1945, but subsequently escaped. He was thereafter arguably the most wanted Nazi fugitive still alive. Rare partly-printed D.S., 6pp. 4to., Berlin, Apr. 22, 1938, an "SS-Erbgefundheitsbogen" chart meant to track any hereditary disease an SS member might carry. Rauff completes the document in type and by hand, indicating that his father's siblings had TB and his grandmother had had cancer of the tongue. A doctor adds a few notes, with Rauff signing on the last page. File holes, else very good.
