(1892 - 1967) German general, instrumental in planning the German invasion of Poland and France, participated in Operation Barbarossa, and afterward bore a large part of the responsibility for planning the defense of the Atlantic Wall and Normandy. A.L.S. within a Christmas card, 1p. 12mo., Nov. 30, 1956 to an American friend, in German. Largely untranslated but thanks the man for his letter and Christmas greetings. He also mentions Kurt Zaizler, Guderian and von Brautschitsch, though in what context is unknown. With holograph envelope which also bears his full signature on verso. Fine condition.
