Good group of twelve award certificates and other documents related to the service of artilleryman Ewald Salzmann, primarily related to his time on the Eastern Front, includes: partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., [n.p.], Dec. 12, 1940, an award certificate granting the General Assault badge to Salzmann as a "Gefreiten" of "2. Batterie Artillerie-Regiment 116". Signed in black ink at the conclusion by 5th Panzer Division commanding general GUSTAV FEHN (1892-1945). Shows small folds with file holes at the left margin, else very good. WITH: typed D.S., 1p. oblong 8vo., Oppeln, Poland, Nov. 16, 1939, a temporary certificate granting Salzmann the "Richtkanonier-Abzeichen" ("Artillery Gunner's Proficiency Badge"). Signed at the conclusion in black ink by a lieutenant. Shows folds and filed holes at the left edge, else very good. WITH: typed D.S., 1p. oblong 8vo., Oppeln, Nov. 16, 1939, a temporary certificate granting Salzmann the "Schiessabzeichen" ("Shooting Badge"), Level I, Shooting Class II. WITH: typed D.S., 1p. oblong 8vo., Weidenau, April 15, 1937, a confirmation that Sazlmann has submitted his application to be added to the muster roll of the Wehrmacht. Bears the facsimile signature of a police official at the conclusion. Shows small folds and file holes at the left edge, else very good. WITH: typed D.S., 1p. oblong 8vo., [n.p.], July 28, 1942, Salzmann's call-up notice. Signed at the conclusion by an "Oberleutnant" and battery chief. Shows a vertical fold and file holes at the left edge, else very good. WITH: partly-printed D.S., 1p. oblong 8vo., Oppeln, Sep. 22, 1942, certifying Salzmann's marriage to a Margarete Heinbach. Shows mild toning and file holes at the left margin, else very good. WITH: typed D.S., 1p. 4to., Klafeld, Dec. 29, 1936, confirming that Salzmann's parents have granted their permission for him to join the service.
