Good content T.L.S. on official NSDAP letterhead, 2pp. 4to., Munich, May 19, 1941 to HANS ZIMMERMANN (1906-1984), Gauleiter of Franconia after Julius Streicher had been suspended from this post. Ley orders that those working on the Reichs Party Day events be secretly exempted from military duty. In part: "...At the order of the Fuhrer, I have begun the preparations for this year's Reich Party Rally, whose date will be announced soon. I have determined that the staff of the Reichsparteitage, which meets annually, will start the preparatory work on 4 June 1941 in Nuremberg. I therefore ask you to have the co-workers who are not in charge of the preparatory work, insofar as they have been called up, released so that they can begin their internal preparations...to be treated strictly confidentially..."
