(1915 - 2008) American bomber pilot of the Enola Gay, which dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, August 6, 1945. S.P., 8" x 10" (sight) b/w, a modern print of a view of Tibbets standing before the Enola Gay, signed at upper right in blue ink, adding his role "Pilot" and the date of the attack, "6 Aug. 1945". The poster is matted in black along with a 3 1/2" x 1" segment of aluminum wing skin removed from a second B-29, nicknamed "Doc", during restoration. Framed in wood and shrink-wrapped along with a certificate giving the limitation number "273", in fine condition.
