(1912-1995) British intelligence officer with the S.O.E. who worked with the French Resistance, survived Gestapo torture and imprisonment at Ravensbruck, and became the first woman to receive the George Cross and to be appointed a Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur. Scarce S.P., 5" x 6 3/4" color, a view of Hallowes later in life, proudly wearing her decorations. She signs at lower right, adding "With best wishes". Shows a biographical inscription on the verso, else very good to fine.
