Very rare proof block of four 1943 Theresienstadt parcel admission stamps in black, Michel #RK1, the block numbered "475". The stamps exhibit none of the traits commonly seen on the many forgeries of these stamps. Additionally, the block is accompanied by a signed attestation by stamp examiner Max Mahr, issued in Dusseldorf, Jan. 31, 1987 to which is attached a photocopy of the block offered here. Mint untouched condition. On July 10, 1943 authorities in Bohemia and Moravia began issuing this stamp for use on packages sent to prisoners at the Theresienstadt concentration camp. The stamp was required if a prisoner was to receive the package, and this was simply another means to part Jews with their savings.
