(1891 - 1955) German general, a recipient of the Knights Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds who was the last commander of the Berlin Defense Area. Partly-printed D.S., 1p. 8vo., [n.p.], July 19, 1943, granting the Iron Cross, Second Class to a Private Jager of "Stab I./Gren.-Rgt. 216". Weidling signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows a horizontal fold, with a small photo of a group of soldiers at attention affixed at left, matted along with a photo of Weidling and an identifying plaque. Very good overall. The original transmittal envelope for the document, addressed to the recipient's mother, is also present.
