(1900 - 1945) Hitler's Chief of the Gestapo, placed in charge of security and responsible for the construction and operation of extermination camps. He chose suicide rather than face a hangman's noose at Nuremberg. Unusual signed book "H. Himmler", "Carl Benz: Lebensfahrt eines deutschen Erfinders" ("Life Journey of a German Inventor"), (Leipzig: Koehler & Amelang), 1925, 176pp. 8vo., a biography of the famed inventor of the first practical internal combustion automobile. Himmler signs at the top of the front flyleaf in green indelible ink, adding the date "25/26. XII.36." below. The binding shows some slight splits to the internal hinges, with a damps stain, soiling, and bumps to the yellow cloth boards, else very good.
