PAUL VON HINDENBURG (1847 - 1934) German general and politician, crushed the Russians at Tannenberg and in Poland, forced to yield the Chancellor's office to Hitler in 1933. Partly-printed D.S., 1p. large 4to., Berlin, May 27, 1927, refers to the pending retirement of Major Dommenget, then serving on the staff of Group Command 2, and authorizes him to continue wearing his service uniform. Co-signed by Minister of Defense OTTO GESSLER at bottom. Folds, else fine.
