(1900 - 1945) Hitler's Chief of the SS and Gestapo placed in charge of security and responsible for the construction and operation of extermination camps. He chose suicide rather than face a hangman's noose at Nuremberg. Fine association T.L.S. on his Reichsfuhrer-SS letterhead, 1p. large 4to., Berlin, Aug. 30, 1937 to KURT DALUEGE (1897-1946) Chief of Security Police in SD central office, appointed SS-Oberstgruppenfuehrer (1942), served as Deputy Protector of Bohemia and Moravia. Hanged by the Czechs in 1946. In part: "...SS-Gruppenfuhrer [Hans-Adolf] Prutzmann has informed me that he became Interior Senator...but the Inspector of the Ordnungspolizei does not want to have anything to do with him. Be so kind as to give an order to the inspector, because Hamburg would be the first practical example where we are able to recruit the Oberabschnittsfuhrer as inspector for police matters..." With an endorsement initialed by Daluege who again initials the document at top. File holes, else fine. Hans-Adolf Prutzmann (1901–1945) served as the Higher SS and Police Leader in the Army Group North Rear Area in the occupied Soviet Union. In this capacity, he oversaw the activities of the Einsatzgruppen detachments that perpetrated mass murders in the Baltic States.
