Excellent double-sided propaganda map, 22" x 29 1/2", offered as a supplement to the NSDAP propaganda magazine "Illustrierter Beobachter" ("Illustrated Observer"), depicting France on one side and its overseas colonial holdings on the other. Most notably, when folded the map displays a derogatory representation of the French empire. France is represented by an overblown stereotypical representation of an African colonial soldier with his arms crossed and a French tricolor attached to his rifle bearing the motto "Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite". Behind him stands a stereotypical depiction of a Jewish banker, as well as Free French general Charles de Gaulle and a second colonial soldier. The map shows a horizontal fold, slight splitting to the folds, minor edge and interior tears, and a tape repair to the spine, else very good.
ANTI-SEMITIC, ANTI-BLACK PROPAGANDA MAP OF FRANCE
