Good association S.P., 8" x 10" color, a candid view of two Wehrmacht soldiers digging out a mudbound motorcycle, signed at top in blue ink by Gauleiter and Premier of Bavaria PAUL GIESLER (18995-1945) and SS-Obergruppenfuhrer HERBERT GILLE (1897-1966). The photo shows a few small folds, else very good. Giesler served as Gauleiter of Westphalia-South, Gauleiter of Munich-Upper Bavaria and Premier of Bavaria. He mass-murdered defeatists and those who refused to join the Volkssturm, and committed suicide with his wife following the German surrender. Gille was the most highly decorated officer of the Waffen-SS during World War II, receiving the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds and the German Cross in Gold.
