Well-marked example of a British Army bugle manufactured and almost certainly used during World War I, approx. 11" x 7" x 4", constructed of copper with a brass mouthpiece and fittings. The front of the bell bears a crisp hallmark in the form of a unicorn's head, and reads: "Henry Potter & Co./Makers/36.38 West St./Charing [cross] Road/London", over the date "1917" and the "broad arrow" stamp used to mark British military property. The instrument shows numerous dents and dings overall, with some minor tarnish and verdigris, overall, else very good.
