(1886 - 1953) Wife of Gen. George S. Patton for over thirty years and covered the country during WWII raising money during bond drives. After the tragic death of her husband in 1945, Mrs. Patton became a forceful and persuasive speaker advocating universal military training. Nice association war-date A.L.S, 1p. 8vo., Washington, Mar. 21, 1945 to "Mr. O'Connor", most likely Basil O'Connor (1892–1972), a close friend and advisor to FDR. In part: "...That's a grand picture of you and my husband! Thank you for sending it to me. I wish I could have been with you at the front..." Near fine.
(GEORGE S. PATTON) BEATRICE PATTON
