(1904 - 1940) German SS Obergruppenführer, one of the key figures concerning the cultural aspects of the SS. His efforts helped Himmler with what he called the “arteigene Kultur”, which was the recreated German pagan religion. Killed in an Allied air raid. Partly-printed D.S., 2pp. 4to. Dusseldorf March 8, 1939, a "Personal-Bericht" ("Staff Report") regarding SS-Sturmbannfuhrer Alfred Buchs, listing his biographical data, education and military experience, and evaluating his character. Weitzel signs at the conclusion in black ink beneath a typed note recommending that Buchs be promoted to the rank of Obersturmbannfuhrer. Shows faint folds, a spot of soiling to the right edge and file holes at the left edge, else very good. Sold with a T.D.S., 1p. 4to., Dusseldorf, Sep. 3, 1937, a copy of a statement indicating that Weitzel had proposed to Reichsfuhrer-SS Heinrich Himmler that Buchs be promoted at the 1937 Reich Party Rally, but that this was refused due to Buch's young age. Weitzel signs at the conclusion in type, with an SS-Oberscharfuhrer countersigning below in black ink. Two pieces.
