(1895-1946) SS leader in the Soviet Union, personally responsible for ordering the deaths of 100,000 Jews and other "undesirables". Sentenced to death and hung at Riga. Scarce T.L.S., 1p. 4to. Braunschweig, July 12, 1939, informing his correspondent that SS-Oberfuhrer Franz Fischer is not available to report for duty at Nuremberg, as he is already tasked with "...exceptionally important areas of work..." under Jeckeln in Braunschweig. He signs boldly in black ink at the conclusion. This letter has been executed on the verso of a 1p. 4to. T.L.S. from "SS-Oberabschnitts Main" ("Upper Section Main") to SS-Obergruppenfuhrer August Heissmeyer, head of the SS-Main Office, requesting that Fischer be made available to assist with preparatory work for the 1939 "Reichparteitag", which never occurred due to the invasion of Poland. This letter is signed at the conclusion by an officer within "SS-Oberabschnitts Main" in black ink. Shows folds with notable soiling and damp stains overall, and with file holes at the left edge, else very good.
