Scarce British imprint: "Correspondence with the United States Ambassador Respecting the Execution of Miss Cavell at Brussells", printed in London by Harrison & Sons, 1915 under government authority. The texts of diplomatic correspondence between American Ambassador Page, Sir Edward Grey, U.S. Minister in Brussels Brand Whitlock, German Gov. General von der Lancken and others are set forth verbatim and as presented to Parliament in October 1915. Much is written of the devotion of Cavell to her patients of all nationalities, and of the necessity for the Germans to adhere to the code of war. In her court-martial, nurse Cavell was prosecuted for aiding British and French soldiers, in addition to young Belgian men, to cross the border and eventually enter Britain.
