Good pair of signed items related to Wehrmacht officer Josef Schmidt, includes: LUDWIG KUBLER (1889-1947) German General of the Mountain Troops during World War II who was executed as a war criminal in Yugoslavia. Partly-printed D.S., 1p. 8vo., [n.p.], Sep. 25, 1943, an award certificate granting Schmidt the Iron Cross, First Class. Kubler signs at the conclusion in bluish-black ink. Shows a horizontal fold, slight foxing and file holes at the left edge, else very good. WITH: FERDINAND SCHORNER (1892 - 1972) German field marshal, highly successful during the German campaigns in Poland and the Balkans, commanding the 98th Mountain Regiment, and the final Commander in Chief of the Wehrmacht. Partly-printed D.S., 1p. 8vo., [n.p.], June 27, 1940, an award certificate granting Schmidt the Iron Cross, Second Class. SChorner signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows a horizontal fold at file holes at the left edge, else very good. Two pieces.
