(1896-1993) American aviator who gained fame both as a racing pilot and as leader of the first air raid on Tokyo during World War II. Printed D.S., 1p. 4to., [n.p.], Dec. 17, 1953, a certificate issued by the National Committee to Observe the 50th Anniversary of Powered Flight, honoring one Leon W, Johnson for "...Distinguished Service to Aviation During the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Orville and Wilbur Wright's first heavier-than-air powered flight..." Doolittle signs at the conclusion in blue ink as the committee's chairman. Very good.
