(1896 - 1974) Soviet Field Marshall, perhaps the greatest general of World War II, he survived crushing poverty and Stalin's purges to command the Russian armies at the monumental battles of Moscow and Kursk, and in the taking of Berlin. Partly-printed D.S., 2pp. 4to., [n.p.], Dec. 6, 1948, a military attestation for Col. Dimitriy Stepreskiy, untranslated by us. Zhukov signs on the second page in blue ink, adding "Agreed" and his rank "Marshal of the Soviet Union", with the date below. Shows holes and a small area of paper loss at the left edge where disbound from a larger volume, else very good.
