(1894 - 1976) German officer, Senior Operations Staff Officer to Keitel, a member of Hitler's inner circle, tried at Nuremberg. Important partly-printed D.S. signed in text and at conclusion, a two-sided postcard to his wife sent from "CCPWE 32", the OPERATION ASHCAN detention and interrogation camp, June 2, 1945, setting forth his name, birthplace, family details, state of health, fact that he had been captured, and prisoner number. Fine. Such cards were sent by prisoners at the time of their arrest and whenever they were relocated. ASHCAN was debriefing Warlimont who we believe had been arrested perhaps only a week or two earlier. His debriefing included a report on the subject of the proposed German-French military alliance that followed the Armistice of 1940.
