Good pair of modern prints, both signed by Allied flying aces of World War II. Includes: JAMES E. "JOHNNIE" JOHNSON (1915-2001) Royal Air Force officer of World War II, whose 34 victories made him the most successful Allied flying ace against the Luftwaffe. Signed print, 16" x 25", a color depiction of Johnson's Spitfire in pursuit of a Luftwaffe Fw 190. Johnson signs in pencil at the bottom of the image, above the image title. The print is also signed by artist John Ficklen, with the pencil limitation "218/950". Fine. WITH: DONALD BLAKESLEE (1917-2008) American combat pilot, a flying ace with 15.5 victories, flew the most combat missions against the Luftwaffe of any American pilot. Signed print, 25 ½" x 30 ¾", a depiction of Blakeslee's P-51 Mustang in flight. Blakeslee signs at lower right in pencil. The print is also signed by artist David Poole, adding the limitation "163/1100". Fine. Two pieces.
