(1915 - 2008) American bomber pilot of the Enola Gay, which dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, August 6, 1945. Typed D.S., 1p. 4to. [n.p., n.d.], reflecting on the bombing of Hiroshima: "...the morality of dropping the bomb was not my business. I was instructed to perform a military mission... and that was the thing I was going to do to the best of my ability." He signs at the conclusion in blue ink, over his printed name and rank. In fine condition.
