(1923 - 2014) Army soldier who fought in World War II as a non-commissioned officer with Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, the "Band of Brothers". Good pair of signed items, includes: Good association signed and inscribed book, "First Across the Rhine: The Story of the 291st Engineer Combat Battalion", by Col. David E. Peregrin (New York: Atheneum), 1989, 338pp. 8vo. Guarnere signs "Wild Bill Guarnere" on the half-title page in black ink, adding "Co. E 101st band of Brothers" while the author, who commanded the 291st, signs in blue on the title page, adding "To the 101st!" and the date "5-15-91". The original dust jacket shows slight soiling, else very good. WITH: S.P. "Wild Bill Guarnere", 8" x 10" sepia, a modern computer print of a wartime portrait of Guarnere in uniform. He signs at bottom left in black ink. Fine. Two pieces.
