(1892 - 1934) Nazi whose energy, skill and oratory powers led to his leadership of Hitler's Reich Organization and service as propaganda chief of the N.S.D.A.P. Killed in the purges of the "Night of the Long Knives". Fine association A.N.S. on the verso of a postcard showing a chateau in Dinkelsbuhl, [n.d. but 1929], to HEINRICH HIMMLER congratulating him on the birth of his first daughter, Gudrun. In full: "To the arrival of the Miss Daughter, best wishes..." Signed in full by both Strasser and his wife Else at bottom. Sold with an 8" x 10" copy of a signed photo presented by Hitler to Strasser in 1928. Himmler and Strasser went back to the earliest days of the NSDAP, when Strasser hired Himmler to serve as his adjutant. Of course, they soon grew apart as Strasser became critical of Himmler and Goring...and would be executed for having chosen "the wrong side".
