(1885 - 1968) German general who planned 'Operation Weserübung', the invasion of Denmark and Norway in 1940, later he became commander of the German troops in Norway between 1940 and 1944. A.L.S., 1p. legal folio, Holzminden, Feb. 4, 1958, to a Mr. Bumball. In part: "Enclosed is returned the picture with signature and add an additional one which was taken in 1944 in Oslo. It is the last picture of me in uniform. I am very familiar with the beautiful Sudentenland, from where you are a descendant, for many years I was the Military Attache at the German mission in Prague. Many of my best friends were Sudeten-Deutsche and I still have wonderful memories...." He signs at the conclusion in blue ink. Shows a horizontal fold at center, else very good.
