(1907 – 1980) German jurist, soldier, and member of the resistance against Adolf Hitler. Schlabrendorff acted as a secret liaison between Tresckow in Russia and Ludwig Beck, Carl Goerdeler, Hans Oster, and Friedrich Olbricht in Berlin, taking part in various coup d'état plans and plots, and personally planted bombs on Hitler's aircraft. Arrested in the July 20 plot, he was being tried by Freisler when a bomb struck the court, killing the jurist. Schlabrendorff spent the rest of the war being shuttled between various camps. T.L.S. on his professional letterhead, 1p. 4to., Wiesbaden, July 28, 1959, sending addresses of other resistance members and adding: "...I do not believe that there are any souvenirs that are related to July 20, 1944. I am afraid that the search for such memorabilia is likely to be fruitless..." Fine, with two copy photos.
