(1885 - 1945) "Old Blood and Guts" was one of the finest tank commanders in history, rolling his forces through Tunesia, Sicily, France and Germany until halted at the Rhine. War-date D.S., an envelope sent to a man in Boston, self-censored by Patton who writes in a corner: "Censored G. S. Patton Maj. Genl". A very light censor's stamp affects two letters in the signature. Canceled Jan. 28, 1943 with the return address indicating the envelope was sent from North Africa. Roughly opened and some wrinkles, still very good. A few weeks later, the Americans would be trounced at Kasserine and Patton would be asked to take command of II Corps.
