Fine group of four documents related to Wehrmacht "Obergefreiten" Johann Kitzweger, includes: partly-printed D.S., 1p. 8vo., "In the Field", Jan. 8, 1942, an award certificate granting Kitzweger the Iron Cross, Second Class, signed at the conclusion in pencil by Wehrmacht general ALFRED RITTER VON HUBICKI (1887-1971). Shows folds and a few spots of soiling, else very good. WITH: partly-printed D.S., 1p. 8vo., "In the Field", Feb. 23, 1942, an award certificate granting Kitzweger the Panzer Assault Badge in Bronze, again signed at the conclusion by von Hubicki in pencil, shows folds and light foxing, else very good. WITH: partly-printed D.S., 1p. 8vo., [n.p.], Aug. 1, 1942, an award certificate granting Kitzweger the Eastern Front Medal, signed at the conclusion in pencil by a superior officer. Very good. WITH: partly-printed D.S., 1p. legal folio, St. Polten, Aug. 22, 1938, Kitzweger's "Taufschein", or baptismal certificate, giving his date of birth as July 1, 1918, and listing his familial data. Shows folds and a spot of soiling, else very good. Also present with the lot is Kitzweger's "death card" indicating that he was killed during the Battle of Voronezh on July 26, 1942. Five pieces.
