(1744 - 1828) American lawyer, jurist, and politician from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a delegate for Pennsylvania to the Continental Congress in 1782 and 1783, and served as Secretary of the Board of War. Partly-printed D.S. as Speaker of the Pennsylvania Assembly, 1p. oblong 8vo., Philadelphia, March 28, 1789, ordering that Assembly member Hugh Davison be paid his wages for 44 days of work. Peters signs at the conclusion in black ink, with Davison and another individual countersigning. Appears to be trimmed at the edges, shows original folds and minor toning, else very good.
