Historic newspaper, the October 23, 1934 edition of the Wilmington, Ohio "News-Journal", 18pp. folio, announcing the death of notorious Depression-era bank robber Charles "Pretty Boy" Floyd. The front page bears the headline "Floyd Slain by Officers Neat East Liverpool", with the accompanying article describing his death shooting death at the hands of a squad of FBI agents led by Melvin Purvis. The page further bears a photo of law enforcement officers fingerprinting Floyd's body as he lays on the coroner's slab, with a second image of Floyd's accomplice Adam Richetti in his prison cell. The paper shows a few interior tears with a 1" square of paper loss to Richetti's photo, with additional chips and toning to the edges, else very good.
