(1879-1954) U.S. Postmaster General and first president of the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America, namesake of the “Hays Code” which set moral guidelines for filmmakers. Good content A.L.S., 1p. 4to. Sullivan, Indiana, April 14, 1924, to a Mr. Blodgett. In full: "I have your note requesting that I send you a line referring to President Harding. In his inaugural address he said 'Service is the supreme commitment of life'. nothing truer was ever spoken - President Harding gave his life for service." He signs boldly at the conclusion in black ink. Shows original mailing folds and some blotting to the ink, else very good.
