Lot of six items signed by multiple members of 509th Composite Group, 393rd Bombardment Squadron Crews A-I, A-2, and A-3. Their aircraft were refitted to Silverplate configuration becoming atomic bomb capable and the crews were deployed to Tinian in late May 1945 in preparation for anticipated atomic bombing raids on Japan, including Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Included is: CREW A-1 "FULL HOUSE" (Weather recon, Nagasaki Aug. 6, Back-up for "BOCKSCAR", Nov. 9, Nose art photo 5 x 7 in. signed by pilot RAY BIEL who also lists mission; CREW A-2 "LAGGIN' DRAGON", copy of flight record of Bombardier JOHN L. DOWNEY, signed by him and by Navigator ROBERT PETROLLI, with Nose art photo, 5 x 7 in., signed by JOHN L. DOWNEY, ROBERT PETROLLI, Radar Operator JAMES BRYANT, Scanner MAURICE CLARK, Flight Engineer TOM BRUMIGAN, Electrical Specialist FRED BUTLER and Crew Chief JOHN HANSEN, all of whom add their position; and CREW A-3 "NEXT OBJECTIVE", Nose art photo 5 x 7 in., signed by Pilot W. LOCKE EASTON, Navigator FRANK WIMER and Radioman LEE PALMERT, along with a copy of Easton's July, 1945 combat record signed by him. With records for each aircraft. Five pieces, fine condition.
