(1912 – 1999) British Army officer who led a glider-borne assault on two bridges between Bénouville and Ranville on D-day, the bridges later named "Pegasus Bridge" and "Horsa Bridge". Fold-out Michelein road map commemorating the 40th anniversary of the "Battle of Normandy", the map showing the landing beaches and principle scenes of combat. The front of the map is signed by Howard and dated "6/6/84" - forty years to the day after his assault on the canal bridges. Worn and soiled a bit, still very good.
